Surescripts has chosen Zenoss to streamline processes across its healthcare information network - the largest of its kind in the nation. Surescripts cited Zenoss’ certified partnership with ServiceNow as a key factor in their selection.
Surescripts is the nation’s largest health information network, connecting more than 900,000 physicians and 66,000 pharmacies through more than 700 electronic health record (EHR) applications. With connections to all major pharmacy benefit managers, the company’s network covers more than 230 million patients.
“Operating a network of such impressive scale presents unique security challenges and requires constant monitoring. For instance, we had multiple points of alerts coming in from multiple products, but probably only 1 in 100 alerts was really actionable,” stated Mark Kennedy, Surescripts’ Vice President of IT Operations. “We needed to cut down on the noise and redundant alerts and just get in front of our people what really matters and what they need to act on."
All of Surescripts’ more than 6 billion transactions are processed through the ServiceNow and Zenoss integration each year, including nearly 700 million medication histories, more than 1 billion e-prescriptions and nearly 10 million clinical messages. These transactions need to be processed seamlessly and securely across the connected networks in order to ensure regulatory compliance.
“Surescripts manages a massive and complex data center and required a monitoring platform with unlimited scalability,” says Brian Wilson, Senior Vice President of Customer Success at Zenoss. “Through our certified integration with ServiceNow, Surescripts will be able to deploy flexible, unified monitoring and analytics at scale, as well as establish and maintain best practices for Enterprise-wide Systems Management.”
“The goal is to become a more predictable IT partner, develop rigorous processes and defined service-level agreements, and consolidate single-point solutions to reduce the learning curve for new staff all while adhering to compliance standards,” concluded Kennedy. “With Zenoss and ServiceNow in place we are confident we will be able to do that.” >>>Read More...
