ResponsiveUI ZenPack

Make life of mobile Zenoss users a bit easier by adding light user interface to access Infrastructure, Device details, Components and Events console. ZenPack also extends Zenoss with settings for User Interface colors and full-screen mode.

Background

Zenoss Color scheme settings


Zenpack addresses issue: http://dev.zenoss.org/trac/ticket/3142 (Add support for alternate color themes). ZenPack adds a settings for color scheme, so user can customize Zenoss system colors for it's own.


Mobile phones & tablets UI


ZenPack adds a light pages for Infrastructure and Event console. Mobile User Interface pages optimized for phone/tablet screen and touch input. User can browse and add devices, device components and events.

Installation

Normal Installation (packaged egg)

  1. Download the appropriate egg file for the version of Zenoss you are running.
  2. Ensure you are logged in as the zenoss user:
    $ sudo su - zenoss
  3. Install the ZenPack:
    $ zenpack --install ZenPacks.community.ResponsiveUI-*.egg
  4. Restart these services:
    $ zenoss restart

Developer Mode Installation

In order to do a development mode installation you will want to clone the existing git repository, and then use the --link flag with the zenpack command:

  1. Ensure you are logged in as the zenoss user:
    $ sudo su - zenoss
  2. Start by cloning the upstream repository:
    $ git clone https://github.com/vsergeyev/ZenPacks.community.ResponsiveUI.git
  3. Next, perform the installation:
    $ zenpack --link --install ZenPacks.community.ResponsiveUI
  4. Finally, restart these serivices:
    $ zenoss restart
