AUSTIN, TX—August 20, 2013 – Zenoss Inc, the leading provider of unified IT monitoring and management solutions for physical, virtual, and cloud-based IT infrastructures, today announced an update to the VMware ZenPack for monitoring and modeling VMware managed objects. As a component of the Zenoss Service Dynamics solution, customers gain insight into the health of their critical applications and services, and can pinpoint the root cause of performance and availability issues related to their underlying virtual data center components.
Data centers are becoming increasingly complex with the widespread use of public and private clouds and even "multi-cloud" methods of consuming compute, storage, and networking capacity. The modern data center is no longer static and under a single roof – it is virtual, elastic, and highly distributed. With this more sophisticated and complex approach it is essential for IT operations teams to have a unified view of their services and applications, along with all the IT resources they depend upon for reliable delivery. Without this unified approach, IT loses the visibility and control they need to ensure the performance and availability of services to their business users.
Zenoss’ enhanced VMware ZenPack gives IT operations staff the ability to view all of their virtualized resources, including ESX server, vSphere, and discrete compute, storage, and networking resources in a single console. The latest enhancements also improve scalability and reduce the resources required to operate the ZenPack. Combined with Zenoss’ additional recently updated cloud ZenPacks (VMware vCloud, Amazon Web Services, OpenStack, and CloudStack), IT staff can now benefit from a unified view of their Hybrid IT environment and the health of its applications and services, all with a single solution.
