Control Center Earns Prestigious Software Industry Recognition Austin, TX – March 31, 2015 – Zenoss Inc., a leading provider of unified IT monitoring and service analytics for virtual, physical and cloud-based IT infrastructures, today announced that Zenoss Control Center was named a finalist for the 2015 SIIA Software CODiE Awards for Best Open Source Innovation. The SIIA CODiE Awards are the premier award for the software and information industries, and have been recognizing product excellence for 30 years. This year’s program features 29 Software categories, several of which are new or updated to reflect the latest industry trends. Winners will be announced during a special virtual SIIA Software CODiE Awards Ceremony on May 7. Control Center is an open source application management and orchestration system powered by Docker. It provides out-of-band management for a very diverse set of Docker applications ranging from a simple web application to multi-tiered stateful application stacks across multiple hosts and data centers. Developed to support its next generation monitoring platform, Zenoss Core 5 (open source community offering) and Zenoss Service Dynamics 5 (commercial offering), Control Center is available to the highly engaged 100,000+ Zenoss user and development community. “When I speak with IT professionals, I’m frequently asked what we’re doing to simplify Zenoss deployment and management, and if we’re utilizing container technologies such as Docker. The answer is a resounding ‘yes’,” said Marcus MacNeill, Vice President of Product Management at Zenoss. “Control Center is based on a microservices architecture which enables applications to run as a set of distributed services that can span hosts, data centers and geographic regions. We’re thrilled to be recognized by CODiE for our efforts and will continue to work closely with the community to innovate application management and orchestration.” “All the CODiE finalists this year showcase innovation and creativity in today’s market. We are happy to recognize them for their products that are breaking ground in the software and services industries,” said Rhianna Collier, VP & General Manager for the Software & Services Division at SIIA.
