AUSTIN, TX — July 8, 2015 — Zenoss Inc., the leading provider of unified monitoring and service analytics for virtual, physical and cloud-based IT infrastructure and applications, today announced that RMS, a pioneer in the catastrophe risk modeling industry, will deploy Zenoss 5 to refine data access and analytic operations across its large-scale, cloud-based infrastructure.

RMS’s models are employed by insurers and reinsurers, financial institutions, corporations and public agencies to evaluate and manage catastrophe risk from perils ranging from earthquakes and hurricanes to terrorism and pandemics. Catastrophe modeling applications of this sort trade in large, diverse swaths of data. James Lord, RMS’s Director of Cloud Operations, Intelligence, and Monitoring, explains that his company’s unique market segment is driving them "to do big data, at scale, in the cloud – which comes with a whole host of challenges."

For the past three years, Zenoss has offered RMS intelligent, flexible solutions to these complex data-management problems. Lord applauds Zenoss’ front-end ease of use and synergy with commercial pre-built connectors (ZenPacks) for Cisco and EMC VMax hardware. Lord also explains, "we have highly partitioned networks and the scalability of the Zenoss platform – notably the remote collectors and the ability to pull apart the pieces and processes that make up the Zenoss platform – have really allowed us to scale and monitor our infrastructure."

"Our goal is to deliver absolute satisfaction to each and every customer at every touch point," stated Brian Wilson, Senior Vice President of Customer Success at Zenoss. "Simply put, our focus on being easier to work with and delivering better service than anyone else in this space has contributed significantly to our growth and success - so from purchase to deployment to the everyday user experience, our customers know they can rely on us."

RMS is excited to capitalize on the possibilities opened up by Zenoss 5’s cutting-edge architecture. A few highlights of Zenoss 5 are the synergies with open-source projects such as Docker, HBase and key technologies that are in the marketplace today. "We're adopting Docker internally for more refined monitoring capabilities and effective, simple scalability. HBase will also allow us to integrate our existing analytics more easily with Zenoss to extract data, manipulate it, and gain key insights," continued Lord.

Hear James Lord discuss how Zenoss’ cooperation with leading hard- and software technologies along with its intelligent support network make it a perfect match for RMS’ large-scale:
