Sometimes “dreams do come true” as Red Hat has officially joined OpenStack as a platinum sponsor; let the dancing begin!
While OpenStack has enjoyed the backing of Red Hat rivals Canonical and SUSE, the absence of Red Hat’s support has been deafening. As difficult as a decision as this was for Red Hat, there are more decisions to be made around the fate of other projects such as Aeolus. Additionally, will this decision change the direction of OpenShift or CloudForms?
In the end, this is a great day for Red Hat and OpenStack as I look forward to the creation of new product offerings that bring a commercially viable OpenStack solution to the Enterprise and beyond.
