Removing the database maintenance script

The Zenoss Core databases require regular maintenance to perform optimally. A script included in the serviced RPM installs a cron job to run the serviced-zenossdbpack script every Sunday at midnight, on every Control Center host. Use this procedure to remove the cron job from all but one host.

Leave the cron job in place on a host in the same resource pool in which the MariaDB services run. For most deployments, the MariaDB services use the same resource pool that all Zenoss Core services use. For high-availability deployments, the MariaDB services use the master resource pool.

  1. Log in to a Control Center host as root, or as a user with superuser privileges.
  2. Remove the cron job.
    rm -f /etc/cron.d/cron_zenossdbpack
