Installing Zenoss Professional in the target infrastructure is fast and easy (and can be even faster with a Zenoss appliance option).

Once installed, Zenoss Professional automatically discovers all hardware and software assets in the infrastructure (network devices, servers, applications, databases, etc.) – keeping a record of each asset in a configuration database (CMDB). Configuration information for each asset is also gathered and stored

After completing the inventory discovery phase, Zenoss begins monitoring all found applications and devices for configuration updates, system availability, performance, events, and errors.

Operations staff access Zenoss monitoring features through a central web-based user console. If problems occur (e.g., server outages, performance slowdowns, or errors), Zenoss alerts users with pages, e-mails, and/or other types of messages.
