Bill Karpovich, CEO & Co-Founder

Since co-founding Zenoss in 2005, Bill has established the company as a leader in commercial open source software. Bill conceived the company's disruptively innovative strategy, raised over $18 million in capital to-date to fund its growth and has successfully guided the company from start-up to a category leader. As an IT management visionary, Bill has been featured on the cover of InformationWeek Magazine and is frequently consulted by the media and industry analysts for his insights on IT management and the broader open source software market.

Prior to Zenoss, Bill held leadership positions with several successful IT startups including USinternetworking, Inc. and Digex Inc., both of which had successful IPOs on the NASDAQ. Before entering the start-up domain, Bill spent 5 years with Accenture, Inc. (formally Andersen Consulting).

Bill is a member of Phi Beta Kappa and graduated with high distinction from Duke University where he earned a degree in Electrical Engineering.

Erik Dahl, CTO & Co-Founder

Erik began developing the Zenoss software in 2002 after first hand, and frustrating, experiences with several of the leading IT management solutions at the time. Since then, he has built out a world class development organization and delivered on his vision of a fully integrated and complete IT management solution.

Prior to Zenoss, Erik was a senior architect at USinternetworking, where he led strategy and development of USi's global monitoring infrastructure. Erik also directed product development at Meta4, and managed IT operations at Cornell University Medical College.

Erik is a graduate of the College of Wooster, and has completed graduate work in computer music at Brooklyn College and mathematics at Ecole Polytechnique Federale in Lausanne, Switzerland.

Peter Repetti, CFO

Peter Repetti is responsible for all of Zenoss' financial and administrative groups, bringing over 20 years of strategic and operating management experience. He has helped a number of early stage software companies achieve successful and rapid growth and has hands-on experience with both public and private market companies.

Prior to joining Zenoss, Pete served as CFO for several successful software companies including Blackboard, WebOS and Manugistics. During his five year tenure with Blackboard, Pete oversaw several mergers and acquisitions, guided an initial public offering, and help build the infrastructure that fueled the company's dynamic growth from 400 to 800 employees and $20-$200 million in revenue. He has also served in financial management roles at US Airways and Flow General and began his career at Arthur Andersen & Co.

Pete holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from The George Washington University and an MBA in Finance and Business Strategy from The University of Chicago.

Chris Farrell, VP Product Marketing

Chris is using his experience in IT management software to drive the product marketing programs at Zenoss. With stints in strategic marketing and product management over a twenty year career, Chris has worked for small start-ups, medium-sized companies, and large enterprises.

Prior to joining Zenoss, Chris held leadership positions in marketing and product management at Wily Technology, IBM, Ericsson, ClearApp. An Application Performance Management expert, Chris was the first Product Management executive at Wily Technology, where he also led product marketing and technical marketing. He helped the company grow to $57M annual revenues when it was acquired by CA in 2006 for $375M. Chris also led Marketing and Product Management as a company vice president at ClearApp (acquired by Oracle). During a ten-year career at IBM, Chris held numerous product management, brand management, and software engineering positions, eventually owning P&L responsibility for IBM's Wireless Internet Suite.

Chris holds a BSE degree in Electrical Engineering and an MBA from Duke University.

Tim Galligan, VP Worldwide Sales

Tim has called upon 20 years of information technology sales experience to build a high performing sales organization at Zenoss. Under his leadership, Zenoss has added over 150 enterprise customers, including brand name companies like Rackspace, UTStar, VMware and Capgemini.

Prior to Zenoss Tim was responsible for worldwide sales of the Sun Microsystems Software Infrastructure business unit. Tim joined Sun via the acquisition of Waveset Technologies, where he was VP of International Operations and instrumental in growing international business 300%.

Tim also held various sales management and sales engineering positions with Bowstreet Software, Motive Communications and IBM/Tivoli where he led the worldwide sales engineering team.

Mark R. Hinkle, VP Community

Mark Hinkle has been the force behind Zenoss' remarkable community adoption and involvement, growing community membership to over 40,000 members since joining the company in 2006. He is a co-founder of both the Open Source Management Consortium and the Desktop Linux Consortium, has served as Editor-in-Chief for both LinuxWorld Magazine and Enterprise Open Source Magazine, and authored the book, "Windows to Linux Business Desktop Migration." (Thomson, 2006)

Mark has also held executive positions at a number of technology start-ups, including Earthlink (previously MindSpring)--where he was the head of the technical support organization recognized by PC Computing and PC World as the best in the industry--Win4Lin and Emu Software.

Mark holds a BS degree in Management from York College of Pennsylvania and has completed undergraduate work in Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh.

Matt Granger, VP Client Services

Matt has hired the talent, established the process rigor and deployed the systems infrastructure that makes the Zenoss Services team one of the top in the industry.

Prior to joining Zenoss, Matt was Director of Systems Engineers at e-Security, where he was an integral part of the company's growth and successful sale to Novell, Inc. Prior to e-Security, Matt helped drive the growth of Riverbed Technologies, which was sold to Aether Technologies where he held the position of Vice President of Applied Technology. Matt was also VP of Systems Engineering for Tivoli Systems, IBM's $1.5B systems management company.

Matt holds a BS degree in Mathematics from the University of North Carolina, Greensboro.

Addie Welch, VP Legal Affairs

Since joining Zenoss in early 2007, Addie Welch has managed all of the legal concerns for the company. For more than 20 years, Addie has been instrumental in growing small and large companies, from start up to ultimate exit strategy.

Before joining Zenoss, Addie created the legal infrastructure for start ups that included HCG Software and Group Practice Affiliates. Addie structured a management buyout of GPA from Magellan Health Services, as well as the subsequent successful sale of GPA to Centene Corporation. Before joining GPA, Addie was Senior Counsel at Magellan Health Services, where she led teams responsible for mergers and acquisitions. Addie started her legal career at Whiteford, Taylor and Preston, a leading law firm in Baltimore, where her practice focused on mergers, acquisitions, financings and other transactional work for small, medium and large commercial, healthcare, real estate and technology companies.

Addie received her JD with honors from Fordham University, and holds a B.S. from Johns Hopkins University, and an M.S. from Georgetown University.

John Hamilton, Director of IT

John came to Zenoss from Medifast, one of Zenoss' first clients, where he was CIO. In this role, he managed a team of 20 IT professionals, and was successful in deploying their ERP and e-Commerce systems.

Prior to Medifast, John spent 6 years as a Technology Consultant for Mercy Medical Center where he directed a massive infrastructure upgrade that included using Zenoss for Enterprise monitoring. John holds a Bachelor's degree in Information Systems from The Pennsylvania State University, and enjoys working on classic cars and flying airplanes in his spare time.

Mike Lunt, Director of Engineering

Mike is a seasoned leader with over 14 years of software life-cycle experience in both online and SaaS based products. He has implemented rapid development and Agile techniques within enterprise organizations as well as several startups.

During his tenure with Zenoss, Mike has expanded the engineering team for rapid growth, and established the Zenoss development center of excellence in Austin.

Prior to Zenoss, Mike was Director of Engineering for BMC Software, where he directed the engineering functions for major releases of enterprise, high availability systems management software. He was at BMC for eight years, and had over 100 engineers reporting to him before moving to Zenoss. Mike also held leadership positions at Evity, Onebox.com and Acuity Corporation.

Mike holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Oklahoma State University.

Brian Riley, Director Global Alliances

Brian is responsible for extending Zenoss' reach into new markets through partnerships with leading systems integrators, consultants and ISVs.

He brings over fifteen years of direct sales and channel sales experience to Zenoss, having been integral to the growth of several early stage technology companies that resulted in successful mergers. He spent several years as Sales Director at e-Security, which was eventually acquired by Novell in 2006. Brian was also Vice President of Strategic Alliances at WorldWeb, where channel sales drove more than 60% of total license revenue. The company was acquired by Starbase in 2001.

Brian also served as Sr. Director of Channel Sales at PSINet. He started his software sales career at CA.

Brandon Whichard, Director of Product Management

Brandon came to Zenoss from Sun Microsystems, where he was a Product Line Manager within the Product Management group. In this role, he managed a team of Product Managers and Technical Product Managers working on Sun's User Provisioning and

Auditing product, Identity Manager.

Prior to Sun, Brandon spent five years as a Product Manager at Evity and BMC Software. As the first product manager for Evity's SiteAngel Web Monitoring Service, he launched the solution in 2000. After BMC's acquisition of Evity, Brandon became the lead Product Manager on BMC's PATROL Express system management solution.

Prior to BMC, Brandon spent three years as a software developer and sales engineer at ObjectSpace.

Brandon holds a BS in Engineering and a BS in Mathematics from Southern Methodist University.
