Zenoss Adds Industry Veteran Wayne Jackson to Board of Directors

Systems management and network security expert strengthens an already seasoned leadership team

2008/10/28

Annapolis, MD (October 28, 2008) – Zenoss Inc., a leading provider of commercial open source application, systems, and network monitoring software, today announced E. Wayne Jackson III, former CEO of Sourcefire, Inc. (Nasdaq:FIRE), will join its Board of Directors. This news comes on the heels of the rapid growth of Zenoss' customer base and management team. Despite the economic downturn, Zenoss reported third quarter record sales with 85 percent quarter over quarter growth and added over 35 new commercial customers.

”We are very pleased with the growth of our community and commercial customer base; more than ever organizations are eager for powerful yet affordable solutions to manage their critical IT infrastructure” said Bill Karpovich, CEO and co-founder, Zenoss. “Wayne brings a wealth of experience building disruptive, market-leading software companies. He will be a tremendous asset as we navigate the next chapters of our growth and global penetration.”

Most recently, Jackson took Sourcefire from an open source software start-up to a dynamic public company via a successful IPO. In 1998 he co-founded Riverbed Technologies, Inc., a wireless data technology company. Jackson grew Riverbed from seven to more than 100 employees within a year of its initial funding, and sold the company to Aether Systems, Inc. in 2000 for $1.1 billion. In addition, he played a leading role in two secondary stock offerings that raised more than $2 billion and built a sophisticated research and development arm for a large systems integrator that generated substantial profits within two quarters of operation.

Jackson stated, “It's exciting to join an organization that is growing so rapidly and delivering such a relevant value proposition. The team has done a great job establishing itself as an important player in a large, global market. I look forward to contributing to the company's future growth and success.”

“Companies of all sizes are seeing the value Zenoss provides – its commitment to the industry, its customers and the open source community,” added Andre M. Boisvert, Chairman of the Zenoss Board of Directors. “The addition of Wayne Jackson mirrors this commitment and his unique perspective will be invaluable going forward.”
