Zenoss Completes Cisco Interoperability Verification Testing with Cisco Developer Network

AUSTIN, TX – April 2, 2014 – Zenoss Inc. today announced that Zenoss Cloud Service Assurance (Zenoss CSA) Version 4.2.4 has successfully completed interoperability verification testing* with Cisco Virtualized Multiservice Data Center Virtual Service Architecture Version 1.0. Available now from Cisco and its authorized resellers, Zenoss CSA supports converged infrastructure environments including NetApp FlexPod and VCE Vblock.

Zenoss Cloud Service Assurance, a software solution for Cisco Data Center converged infrastructure deployments, enables reliable service delivery by providing an essential platform for resource monitoring, relationship modeling, adaptive dependency discovery, service impact assessment, and precise root cause analysis.

Zenoss CSA for VMDC enables reliable service delivery in a Cisco VMDC, NetApp FlexPod, VCE Vblock or Cisco Unified Data Center deployment, providing the following benefits:

  • Reduced Time to Deployment — Provides a tested, validated, and a completely agentless service assurance solution for VMDC-architected data centers, ensuring a consistent and fast deployment.
  • Improved Operational Efficiency — Automated discovery and continuous relationship modeling simplifies operations management, resulting in a higher number of devices managed per administrator.
  • Improved Customer Service — Cloud Service Assurance for VMDC helps identify services most affected by availability or performance issues in underlying infrastructure, speeding up root cause identification and reducing mean-time-to-repair.
  • Reduced Risk — Enterprises and Service Providers deploy new architectures with confidence.

The Zenoss CSA solution automatically tracks the compute, virtualization, network, and storage resources used by each end-user service and maps the resources into a service dependency model. These models can then be used to pinpoint infrastructure issues that can lead to service disruptions, and the models are dynamically and automatically maintained as the infrastructure changes.

With the latest release of Zenoss’ CSA, Zenoss now provides support for the following types of Cisco virtual network appliances:

  • Cisco Cloud Services Router (CSR) 1000V Series
  • Cisco Adaptive Security Appliance (ASA) 1000V Cloud Firewall
  • Citrix NetScaler 1000V

"Zenoss CSA helps customers get maximum value from their converged infrastructure," explains Alan Conley, Zenoss CTO. "New cloud deployments are increasingly leveraging Cisco’s VMDC and moving towards NFV (network functions virtualization) architectures. By adding support for these new virtual appliances, our customers can ensure the same reliability and agility for their network that they have long enjoyed with their server workloads."

The Cisco Developer Network unites Cisco with third-party developers of hardware and software to deliver tested interoperable solutions to joint customers, harnessing the power and intelligence of the network. As a Registered Developer, Zenoss offers a complementary product offering and collaborates with Cisco to meet the needs of joint customers. With offerings such as Zenoss Cloud Service Assurance Version 4.2.4, customers can more quickly deploy a broad range of Cisco compatible business applications, devices, or services that can enhance the capabilities, performance, and management of the Cisco network.
