Zenoss CEO to Speak to Penn State MBA Students

Distinguished Achievement Award Winner Greg Stock to Lecture Flagship Course – Strategy Implementation and Organizational Change

AUSTIN, TX — September 21, 2015 — Zenoss Inc., developer of software for the Intelligent Data Center, today announced its CEO and Chairman, Greg Stock, will present during the Management 531 class, Business Strategy and Organizational Change.

For the 10th year, Stock has been asked to speak as part of the flagship course in Penn State’s MBA Program. This year the presentation will include an interactive case study on Zenoss. Past courses led by Stock included case studies on Vovici [acquired by Verint NASDAQ: VRNT] and Mirage Networks [acquired by Trustwave].

"Greg Stock has become a centerpiece of our highly-rated MBA elective on Strategy Implementation and Change, always providing the students an engaging and thoughtful glimpse of the challenges of strategic leadership," stated Donald C. Hambrick, Evan Pugh Professor and Smeal Chaired Professor of Management, Smeal College of Business. "Now in his tenth year as a guest lecturer, it’s no surprise that he has become a bit of a legend in the Smeal MBA Program."

Stock maintains close ties to his alma mater through involvement across several fronts. He received the Distinguished Achievement Award from the Smeal College of Business at Penn State in 2008. This award honors alumni whose career achievements have brought distinction to themselves and the Smeal College, and whose commitment of time, talent, and resources has been key to enhancing the prestige of the college. In 1996, Stock was named Penn State’s Emerging Logistics Professional Award winner for industry excellence, leadership, and community service in the field of Supply Chain Management. He was a featured speaker at Penn State’s Hadley Waters Logistics Symposium as well as the Logistics Leaders Forum at Penn State University.

Stock is best known on campus as the longest tenured Drum Major in Penn State history from 1982 to 1987. He performed the trademark "flip" during five college football seasons that included three National Championship games and two National Championships.

Greg created the Stock Family Drum Major Endowment Fund in 1997, the Stock Family Scholarship at the Smeal College in 2008 and the Stock Family Intercollegiate Athletics Trustee Scholarship in 2012. Since their inception, these scholarships have helped more than 20 students earn degrees from Penn State.

Prior to Zenoss, Greg served as Chairman and CEO of Vovici, transforming the company into the leading provider of Voice of the Customer (VoC) SaaS solutions. Under his leadership, Vovici experienced explosive growth of more than 300 percent, expanding its customer base to include 50 percent of the Fortune 500. Vovici was acquired by Verint-Systems in July 2011.

Before Vovici, Greg served as President and CEO of Mirage Networks, a provider of network access control (NAC) solutions based in Austin, TX. During his tenure, Greg led the company from its first customer win to securing more than 600 customers in 40 countries and garnered more than $37 million in funding. Mirage was acquired by Trustwave in February 2009.

Previous to Mirage Networks, Stock was a key player in several successful technology companies including Vastera, a provider of global trade management solutions, where he was instrumental in the company’s successful IPO in September, 2000. Early in his career, Greg held leadership positions at Manugistics, Chrysler Motors and IBM. Greg was most recently an Entrepreneur-in-Residence with Austin Ventures and is a member of the Board of Directors at Austin-based AgileCraft. Greg has a Bachelor of Science degree and an MBA from the Pennsylvania State University.
