Nine Baltimore-area startups crack Inc.'s fastest-growing list

Hanover cyber security firm Ciphent led nine local companies to land on Inc. magazine’s list of the 500 fastest-growing startups in the country.

Ciphent placed No. 16 overall on the list, with revenue growth of 8,907 percent over three years. The company had $103,717 in revenue in 2006, and $9.3 million in 2009.

Zenoss landed at No. 42. The Annapolis firm makes open-source software used to monitor networks and servers and grew from $103,000 to $5.6 million in revenue over three years.
