Andre Boisvert, Chairman

Mr. Boisvert has been in the technology field for over 30 years. Boisvert started his career with IBM in 1976 where he spent 13 years. While at IBM, Boisvert held senior management positions in sales, marketing and Research & Development. After leaving IBM, Boisvert held executive positions in some of the best respected software companies in the industry, such as Cognos Corporation and Oracle Corporation where he was Senior Vice President of Worldwide Marketing and was a member of Oracle's Management committee.

In 2000, Boisvert was recruited to the post of President and COO, SAS Institute Inc, the world's largest privately held software company with revenues exceeding a $1.5 Billion annually, with the mission of bringing the company public. When the plans for an IPO were subsequently abandoned, Boisvert followed one of SAS' investments by becoming Chairman and CEO of Sagent Technologies (NASDAQ: SGNT). In April of 2004, Boisvert successfully completed the sale of Sagent Technologies Inc. to Group 1 Software Inc (NASDAQ:GSOF).

In October 2004, Boisvert co-founded Pentaho Corporation, the world's leading open source business intelligence platform. As Pentaho's Chairman, Boisvert plays an active role in the area of strategic alliances and business development for the company. Boisvert is also a private investor and Chairman of Compiere Inc, the world's leading integrated open source ERP & CRM company and Zenoss Inc., the leading open source Network and System monitoring company. Additionally Boisvert serves on the board of directors of SlickEdit Inc. and UBMatrix Corp.

Boisvert is also active in the venture investment community and as such consults for some of the leading venture firms.

Bill Karpovich

Bill is a forward-looking executive who has successfully launched several disruptive IT infrastructure products and associated businesses. Like Zenoss, these innovative offerings made it easier for organizations of all sizes to get substantially more value from their IT investments. New products and businesses that Bill has launched have accumulated over $1B dollars in sales.

Over the past 10 years Bill has held leadership positions with several successful IT startups including Software-as-a-Service pioneer USinternetworking, Inc. and web-hosting-pioneer Digex Inc. which both had successful IPO's on the NASDAQ. Before entering the start-up domain, Bill spent 5 years with Accenture, Inc. (formally Andersen Consulting), where he specialized in application architecture of next generation information systems for the telecommunications industry.

Bill is a member of Phi Beta Kappa and graduated with high distinction from Duke University where he earned a degree in Electrical Engineering and played varsity soccer. Bill is also a graduate of the Mindshare CEO Program and sits on the Strategic Advisory Board for the Anne Arundel Tech Council and the Board of Directors of the Open Management Consortium.

Erik Dahl

Erik began development of the Zenoss software in 2002 to realize his vision of a better alternative for network/systems management. Erik brings 15 years of IT management experience. Zenoss is the fourth management product that Erik has led the development of in his career.

Prior to Zenoss, Erik was a senior architect at USinternetworking, where he led strategy, development of USi's global monitoring infrastructure. Prior to USinternetworking, Erik was director of product development for Meta4, Inc. where he led the development of a next generation IT monitoring software product. Prior to Meta4, Erik managed IT operations at Cornell University Medical College.

Erik is a graduate of the College of Wooster. He has completed graduate work in computer music at Brooklyn College and mathematics at Ecole Polytechnique Federale in Lausanne, Switzerland.

Don Rainey

Don Rainey joined Grotech Capital Group as a General Partner in September 2007. Located in the greater D.C. area, he identifies and evaluates information technology and life science investment opportunities, working in the entrepreneurial community from Baltimore to Richmond.

Don is a serial entrepreneur who has been part of and built many successful businesses in the networking and online marketplaces. Prior to joining Grotech, Don was a General Partner with Intersouth Partners, an early stage venture capital firm in North Carolina. He was previously president of Attitude Network, one of the first entertainment networks online, which was sold to TheGlobe.com. He also served as a founding member of the Board of Directors for Accipiter through its acquisition by CMGI and was COO of DaVinci Systems, a Research Triangle-based software company, which was sold to ON Technology, enabling a combined entity IPO four months later.

Don has also held senior executive positions with Novell and the IBM Corporation. At Novell, he was responsible for all reseller programs and channel distribution. At IBM, he managed channel distribution and brand marketing for the $2 billion Network Hardware Division, where he established and managed product marketing and distribution in 50 countries.

Don is an adjunct professor at George Mason University where he teaches a course on venture capital in the School of Management. He serves on the Enterprise Investment Advisory Committee for the State of Maryland and the Investment Advisory Board of the State of Virginia's Growth Acceleration Program. He sits on the Boards of Directors for Mindshare and Virginia Tech Intellectual Properties and has held leadership positions with the Northern Virginia Technology Council and the Mid-Atlantic Venture Association. Don received his B.B.A. from James Madison University.

Jonathan Perl

Mr. Perl has more than 9 years of investing experience, focused primarily on early-stage information technology and life science companies. He led the BVIV investments in iLumin Software, Rannoch and Millennium Pharmacy Systems. ILumin was sold to Computer Associates (NYSE: CA) in October 2005. He was a Partner in BVIV and will be a General Partner in BV V.

Mr. Perl joined Intersouth Partners in 1997 as a member of the third class of Kauffman Fellows. In 1999, he became a Partner. He was responsible for the sourcing, due diligence, structuring and negotiation of more than a dozen early stage investments, including several highly successful companies.

From 1991 to 1995, Mr. Perl was the Director of Washington Operations for IICC, a placement agent, where he was responsible for a variety of consulting arrangements with both investment management firms and venture backed companies. Prior to joining IICC, Mr. Perl was in the management development program at American Security Bank (now BofA).

Mr. Perl holds an MBA from the Amos Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College (1997) and a BA (magna cum laude) in classical history from Tufts University (1988).

Chris Hegele

Chris Hegele joined Intersouth in 2003 to assist in deal sourcing, deal management, due diligence and mentoring.

He is a long-standing member of the Southeast’s venture capital community, having spent nearly 20 years as a general partner with Kitty Hawk Capital, a venture capital firm located in Charlotte, North Carolina. Kitty Hawk was founded in 1980 and manages $100 million in four venture capital funds. He has served on the boards of numerous private companies and two public companies. At Kitty Hawk, Mr. Hegele had extensive co-investment activity with Intersouth and shared seven common investments, including current portfolio companies Biolex Therapeutics and Trinity Convergence.

At Intersouth, Chris works with the life science portfolio and serves on the boards of four portfolio companies. He has served on the SEBIO steering committee and as the investor relations chair of the SEBIO Conference. Prior to joining Kitty Hawk in 1984, he was with Arthur Andersen & Co. in its Small Business Group. He holds a B.S. in Economics from University of North Carolina at Wilmington, where he was recognized as an outstanding alumnus of the Cameron School of Business, and an M.B.A. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
